Process

Your WEBSITE Preparation: How you can get your content organized
1. Browse the web, Collect URLs (web addresses) of sites you like and dislike as examples of colors, layouts, themes, etc. Looking at businesses within your industry can be helpful in deciding what information will be important for your potential clients.

2. Create an outline of the content you want on your website (the information you want to provide about you or your business). Give a short description of desired visuals, colors, and ideas for the site if you have any, other wise i will work my magic with supplied images and/or inspirations from your art or business.

3. Write the content — be informative but concise. You don't want to overwhelm your audience with excessive text. Click here for an example of a great way to organize your content.

4. Gather photos, video and audio to be included. You may need to take specific photos or hire a photographer. There are stock photography sites which offer low cost stock photos.
~
www.istockphoto.com, www.stockxpert.com, www.fotolia.com are a few. I also have a large photo collection that may be useful. Feel free to provide specific photos as well as extras that appeal to you, I often do extensive collage work and the extra photos can be helpful. If a photograph is intended to be with specific text or on a specific page, please note this in your content outline.
All content (text, images, music, video etc.) must either be yours to use, approved for use, or from the public domain (no copyrighted material can be submitted or used without permission and consent).
Images for the web may be low resolution, but if we are also working on a print project together then it is best to submit high resolution photos. Please note, I can do the photo searching and selection for you if needed.

5. Keywords & Description:
Keywords & Phrases: 10-30 keywords and phrases you think people will use to search your website, list most important first.
Description: A short description of your website purpose, using some of your keywords in the description.  1-2 sentences.
Keep your keywords in mind when writing your content. They will also be included in your page titles, headings and body copy to help search engines find your site.

6. Submit Content. All content needs to be finalized, spell checked and delivered as one package whether by email or disc.
